Introduction:
Allah be praised, Lord of all worlds. And may his peace and blessings be upon His noble prophet Muhammad.
Protect and guard us from
“O my Lord! Grant me the confidence I need and ease my task for me, and allow my speech to flow eloquently that they may understand.” O Allah protect and guard us from wickedness and keep our hearts safe and sound. Save our youth from immoral sexual activity and sinfulness. Make us successful to follow all that You love and find pleasing. Amen.
The cultural onslaught of the west has taken a tremendous toll on the morals of Muslim youth in our times; especially after the introduction of modern media into many homes. The Internet, TV shows, satellite broadcasts, as well as the many Western magazines found throughout the Muslim world all promulgate sex and immorality; and generally make light of veiling. They promote free intermingling between men and women in the name of individual choice and freedom; which are accomplished nonetheless by abandoning values such as modesty, chastity, and purity,
As a result, Muslim leaders are faced with a serious challenge in need of the utmost concern so that they can adequately admonish Muslims of the dangers before them in the form of this foreign culture. And so it is in this regard that I sought; with the help of others, to compile this brief book on the dangers of pre-marital sex by examining the morals and principles of Islam aimed at combating this evil.
I have collected and arranged every verse, hadith and quote possible that deals with this subject in a concise yet careful presentation. All of which is intended to make for an easier publication accessible to a wider audience. In hopes that more wholesome points of view on some issues of social concern gain acceptance, as opposed to the very destructive and detrimental views currently being circulated. Muslim society and non-Muslim society as well can stand to benefit and lessen the harms that result from illicit sexual activity.
This book is divided into three main chapters as follows:
- Faith - Righteous Conduct - Marriage
In each of the above chapters I discuss the most important issues. It’s my hope that through this work I will have made it convincingly clear to parents, Muslim leaders, and all those concerned that premarital sex is a menacing danger and sin which can only be avoided by thoroughly examining its root causes. Similarly I hope to encourage our youth to marry and that their parents and community leaders make it an accessible and reasonable option.
Before closing this introduction, I’d like to graciously thank Dr.Yusuf Shubaili, Dr. Houssein Chouat, Dr. Muhammad Waqiuallah, Dr. Salih Sani, and Sh. Adbul Munim Al-Amin; all of whom played a vital role in seeing this work to production in spite of their respective bust schedules examples of which are not too uncommon for men of such moral endeavor. May Allah grant them copious rewards and protect their families and offspring from wrongdoing. Amen.
To close I ask Allah to bless this endeavor and bring benefit to all those who come upon it. And may He pardon any errors herein. O Lord accepts this deed of us verily You are all-Hearing, All-Knowing.
