An-Nawawi's Forty (40) Hadith is a concise yet comprehensive collection of authentic statements by Allah's Messenger (sws) outlining the most fundamental principles of the Religion of Islam. Most of its content is extracted from the two Saheehs of al-Bukhari and Muslim. It is a blessed work which has been taught generation after generation in circles of knowledge and continues to be explained by the scholars of Islam until today.
This audio presentation features the reading of an Nawawi's Forty (40) Hadith in the original Arabic wording by Hamad ad-Durayhem with English narration by Sabir Crispin.
We pray that, by allowing the listener to hear the exact words of the Prophet Muhammad (sws) followed by their meaning in English, this production will serve to promote a greater understanding of the message of a man who has been largely misunderstood in this day and age when humanity is most in need of his message. And we pray that, through repeatedly listening to these noble words of wisdom, the listener will eventually memorize them, as generations of Muslims have, and live by their upright teachings.
About the Author --
Abu Zakariyya Yahya Ibn Sharaf an-Nawawi was born near Damascus in the year 631 Hijri (1233 AD). He excelled in the study of the Qur'an from a young age and went on to become a foremost Islamic scholar of his time. He authored several works in a number of Islamic sciences, perhaps the most well-known of which are his commentary on Saheeh Muslim, Riyadh as-Saliheen, and the Forty Hadith. An-Nawawi passed away in 676 Hijri, accomplishing in his forty-five years on the earth in the path of Allah what few have been blessed to in much longer lives. May Allah forgive an-Nawawi and raise him to the highest ranks of Jannah for the beneficial knowledge he left behind, and may He bless us to learn and live by that knowledge, ameen.
